Well, I don't recall "road rage" incidents escalating to gunfights, 50 years ago. The data shows that percent of households with guns has declined over the last 50 years, but it seems the willingness to use them, or other forms of violence, against other people, has increased. Even the POTUS advocates physical violence against other people.
