Incomplete list but in my lifetime, the Presidency and nomination has been earned, even by the most advantaged.

Jimmy Carter fought and won the nomination. Geez was living in people's homes during campaign stops.

Ronald Reagan fought for and won the nomination versus multiple opponents, some of them Establishment darlings.

Bush Senior despite being VP had some formidable opponents.

Bill Clinton - my goodness despite a disaster in 1988, and a 90% approval for Papa Bush in the 90's, he gave it a run, endured many attacks, tricks, dirt and won the nomination and literally was shaking hands in the rain the night of the first primary.

Al Gore - heir apparent to popular administration but was still given somewhat of a run by Bill Bradley.

George W Bush - certainly heir to the Bush Machine but nevertheless like all of the above there was fundraising, managing said fundraising, getting a team together, fighting primaries from lightweights like Alan Keyes and Dan Quayle and then a decent fight from John McCain.

John Kerry - took on some formidable Dems like union favorite Gephardt.

Barack Obama - WOW. Little known fact but the spectacular speech at Kerry's convention had more to it. *days* after that.....Obama quietly had operatives in Iowa planting seedlings. He took on the Clinton Machine and won it.

Hillary Clinton - despite Obama's backing, she put together somewhat of a rapport with her Senate colleagues. Again, had to assemble a team, fundraisers etc. Once fought Obama hard till the end. Then had multiple primary opponents to debate the next time around also.

Donald Trump - in 2016 he took on anyone from Cruz to Rubio to Jeb Bush, powerful politicians with powerful backers and won the nomination.

Not ONE OF THE ABOVE started out in a primary season at the TOP with HEALTHY FUNDRAISING.....only to poll poorly in their own home-state and then have to QUIT the race 5 weeks later on with tons of money spent on luxury hotels and squandered on other stuff.

Today we have Vice President Harris who did a clever thing by befriending Biden's son and getting the Vice Presidency.

That was about it - after a colossal failure at running for President on her own.

Of course she can win. She would be my President (unlike you Soviet loving liberals and Trump and Bush).......but WOW,. this is the first time in my life I've seen the nomination literally given to someone like a kid on Christmas morning.

It was given to you. In this case Obama was right. "You didn't build that. Someone else did it for you".

Thus far Team Trump is running a horrible campaign and the Pro Life Taliban seems to be on Dem Payrolls lol because they are proudly showing their Talibanesque ways. . So she may well win. But wow, there's people who worked harder for middle management jobs at some company.

The fun would be a Democrat Senate and Congress. No checks and balances. Then you people would once more get what you deserve, and faster.

In the meantime, don't go attending Swift concerts in Vienna. Some of your deserved gifts are lurking there LOL
