On Meet The Press on Sunday, in response to a question about the justification for imposing tarrifs to coerce U.S. takeover of Greenland, Scott Bessent said:

"The national emergency is avoiding a national emergency."

I kid you not.

Meanwhile, global markets are tanking, republicans are threatening impeachment, SCOTUS is likely to rule on Trump's tariffs, and Trump speaks with global CEOs in Davos on Wed.

Some day, we'll all look back at this week fondly and laugh! Good times. 😊
