What do ya do when your spending outpaces your income?
Reach for the credit card (or don’t pay your car loan).
Hmm... let’s see...
📊 U.S. Household Debt and Credit Report released by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in August 2026 showed that total American credit card debt rose by $21 billion in the second quarter to reach $1.26 trillion.
And this:
• Subprime Delinquencies: The 60+ day past-due rate for subprime borrowers hit ~5.2%, more than doubling over four years and exceeding 2008 financial crisis peaks.
• Prime Delinquencies: Prime 60+ day auto delinquencies rose to ~0.4%, marking the highest levels seen since 2011.
• Total Debt & Volume: Total U.S. auto loan debt surged to a record $1.71 trillion in Q2 2026.
Don’t expect Congress or Trump to be concerned about any of it.
Mike Johnson sent the House into recess till after the election so Republican House members wouldn’t be asked any questions, and over in the Senate, it’s the Judiciary Committee that’s grabbing the spotlight. They’re re-litigating the 2020 election, mainly falling on their butts as they try to spring a perjury trap on Jack Smith that blows up in their faces.
Trump? He’s too busy trying to rename the Kennedy Center and making campaign videos on the taxpayer’s dime.
