because the UN has neither the authority nor the capacity to take away Israel's nuclear weapons.
By UN, I really meant the typical UN force, which is the US military with just enough Europeans and Canadians to make it “multinational”. I’d suggest negotiations first, but I’d put that in the not plausible pile as well. Frankly, it could be China or Russia for all I care.
There's almost certainly a majority of Palestinians would are unhappy with the status quo and would prefer the pain of change to current conditions. But they don't get to overrule the minority that feels the opposite, and probably never will.
Well, that’s a problem. But I’m tired of it being an American problem. And I’d say that “majority” isn’t feeling enough pain yet or they’d find a way to change things and overrule that minority.
If you give it to them good and hard, it's just going to bring massive amounts of pain and suffering, to no real long-term benefit for anyone.
Seems to me that IS the current condition. Lots of pain and suffering, with no long term benefit to anyone. Perhaps it’s time to crank up the pain and suffering until change becomes possible.
