Cuba is of particular interest to Rubio, but I don't recall his nibs directly threatening Cuba, or Nicaragua, the way he has threatened Venezuela, Columbia, Panama, Greenland, and Canada.
Nicaragua's largest export is gold, but only about $1B/year worth. Cuban exports are modest, about $100M each/year of nickle and zinc.
I don't see enough profit to interest Pirate King Trump in invading either Nicaragua or Cuba. Pretty small beans compared to the $13B/year of oil exported from Columbia and the $17.5B/year of oil from Venezuela.
Maybe the Trump regime is playing Machado? Feeding her fantasy of exterminating Communists, so she will be the public face of the USian takeover (and looting) of the country. And, every time she asks when the US is going to knock over Nicaragua and Cuba, she will get excuses and "maybe next year, the year after for sure", but it never happens.
