Yesterday, days ahead of a visit to Japan by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Dementia Don cried about the trade imbalance between the U.S. and Japan, whining that “They sell us millions and millions of cars a year. We sell them no cars because they won’t accept our cars. And they won’t accept much of our agriculture either.”
What a dumbass.
Japan maintains a 0% tariff rate on imported passenger vehicles and has had that policy in place for decades.
The Japanese don't buy American cars because they're inferior, lack the IIHS safety ratings they demand, and they're not designed to meet the needs of the average Japanese consumer.
Oh, and Japan imports $15+ billion of American agriculture annually.
What a dumbass.
