Taking Persian Gulf shipping off line greatly increases profits for USian big oil, who not only has unencumbered domestic production, but also has priority access to Venezuelan oil.
The original Rant #1 stated the objective of the Iraqi invasion was to take Iraqi production off line, to tighten supply, to increase the profits of big oil.
Bush and Cheney had long standing connections to big oil. Trump the Great and Powerful allegedly promised big oil "everything they want", for a $1B bribe.
