Recognizing that Ben is slanting things to support his point of view, the inflammatory rhetoric that Noem uses, is the same as Bush #43 used against Muslims. Trump is not an aberration. Trump is the next step on the trajectory this country has been on since the 80s.
Speaking of tear gas, the first snootful I got was as a bystander during a riot in high school. That was nothing compared to the "gas house" at Great Lakes.
wrt Hegseth's ban on beards, in my day, beards were verboten, because a beard would prevent your gas mask making a good seal around your fact. If you mask doesn't seal, not only are you in danger, but, instead of taking care of business, your compadres would need to drag your disabled self around.
Tip, if you are gassed while in a traffic jam. Some cars have cabin air filters that are impregnated with activated charcoal, the same filter media used in gas masks. If you get gassed, it would be helpful to put the ventilation system on recirculate, with the fan running, to repeatedly pass cabin air through that charcoal filter. Or, carry a gas mask with you at all times, like this was the Blitz.
