A prime example of grasping for what he wanted

He knows he will lose his base if he does Iraq 2.0 - it's one of the very few things he could do that would cause his base to abandon him.

Quite the self imposed quandary, isn’t it?

And I'm pretty sure he'd think he was better off allowing Iran to end up wherever it ends up rather than drop a nuclear weapon on Tabriz.
