Smiley thing noted. The regime has been demanding detailed voter registration information. Michigan is among the states refusing to provide the level of detail, like names and home addresses, that the regime is demanding.

Scenario: the SA rounds up a gaggle of "domestic terrorists" (demonstrators). Checks their names and addresses vs the voter information extracted from their state of residence. In a state where people register by party affiliation (Michigan is not one of them) the regime finds the overwhelming majority of the demonstrators are registered as Democrats. So the regime declares the Democratic party a "terrorist organization" and starts sweeping up donors to the party.

Don't even try to tell me "it can't happen here".
