My Texas roots are deep and include an ancestor on my mother's side who died at the Alamo (Andrew Kent of the Gonzales Ranging Company). Many of my Texas relatives are Trumpers.
Ann Richards is not that distant in Texas memory.
Think Austin, Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth and San Antonio.
And Texans in rural counties are not exempt from the devastation Trump has unleashed.
Loyal Trumpers can now be categorized in 2 camps-
1. Those who voted for Trump, still love Trump, and will climb barbed wire to vote for his candidates in November.
2. Those who voted for Trump, still love Trump, but are thinking less and less about showing up to vote for his candidates in November… Count a bunch of farmers/ranchers in this group. Color them “disappointed”.
My wife and I are in Oklahoma at the moment, visiting friends.
Same thing goes for Oklahoma as goes for Texas, though residents of both states resent being lumped together on just about anything.
