I don't think I'm in for a rude shock. I'm not naive enough to think that either party is perfect, completely devoid of illiberal elements that will favor certain identity groups over others. Nothing in this world is perfect or pure. The fact that Democrats aren't perfect for Jews doesn't make Republicans better.

One party is actively catering to a fast-growing minority that doesn't necessarily have a warm fuzzy for the Torah. Which one of them is that?

But they're a much smaller part of the coalition than the evangelical and born-again Christians who strongly oppose the separation of church and state, and believe it's important to vastly increase the degree of religiosity in now-secular spaces. And the latter is a much more dangerous value for Jews than the former.

So you're under the impression that the Evangelicals are dictating to the GOP this and that.

So tell me: how many synagogues have been banned in places like Florida, Texas and Louisiana?

You should bear in mind that if asked, every single Evangelical will answer "JudeoChristian" when asked "What principles were the founding documents of the United States based on?"

But it doesn't tilt the balance away from progressive values being generally better for Jews than conservative values.

Heh. You're going to find out soon that "progressive values" == "whatever gets us and keeps us in power".

You may ask yourself this. How come the Party of Muh Democracy just threw away the will of 14 million voters?
