This time it’s Christina Pike in Tennessee. And of course it’s a lethal injection.
I simply don’t understand this. Most veterinarians perform this procedure multiple times a week. In countries that allow assisted suicide, it generally works just fine. But when corrections systems try to do it, they muck it up on a regular basis.
Are the people performing the injection really that bad? Can they not figure out the necessary drugs and doses? Have politicians stepped in and passed legislation that messes up what should be a simple and quick process?
This is just a sad and terrible outcome. I’m not a fan of capital punishment, but if it’s going to be done, it should be done properly, not by a bunch of yahoos who have no idea what they are doing.
