That's my plan. Subsidies depend on income and where you live - down to the county.
For my family of 5 the annual subsidy will be $19,932 ($22,176 if enhanced subs were retained) on a MAGI of $150k.
I agree. When I first came back to the states, it was all bewildering, and I chose without realizing I was choosing. I was just getting used to the idea I had cancer in my tonsil and didn't really have a full diagnosis.
Now, you have to be too much on top of things or you'll make a big mistake. I have this nagging thought that I might get the same care for cheaper, but I can't tell even if I look. I have yet to find a place that will tell me what my current medigap would be if I had known about that choice, or if I had that choice still while coming back overseas,and what the differences in care would be. I;m satisfied at the moment and am looking for cheaper car insurance. :)
