I am baffled because if I am not completely mistaken on IBKR those info compared to Schwab were delayed for many(!) minutes (like Schwab showing "-3.39" for % price change, and IBKR showing that only a full 15min later). I thought IBKR is the pro platform?
TWS shows a real time data feed.
But you do have to have the appropriate data subscription set up.
Most brokers have a flat rate (or hide it in their commissions), but that means some people are paying for stuff they don't need, meaning the flat rates (or trade commissions) are too high.
IB takes the opposite approach, to the extreme: you have to subscribe to what you want, perhaps in several pieces, but they sell it to you at their cost (within rounding error).
This is an approximate overview:
The usual starting point is the "IBKR Pro" non professional "US Securities Snapshot and Futures Value Bundle" that costs $10/month, waived if you spend 3x that in commissions.
Then you might add the US Equity and Options Streaming Add-On Bundle for another $4.50.
Check the details, but it's something like that. I have those two plus the "CFE Enhanced" for another $4.50, as I trade futures, plus UK equities for 5 GBP, total $25.32/month.
The flip side of that complexity is that the commissions are very low, and frequently negative. You can buy 1 A share for $1.
