I am using it with browser, not the app. "Portfolio" shows market value + average buying prices + resulting $ gain/loss of my holdings.
I am not interested in market value. But I want to see % gain/loss, current price and the current days % change of each holding.
How to do that? "Edit columns" is greyed out. The only way I found is to create a report with "Performance & Reports", "Statements", "Activity", then selecting "Period" and "Date" and then "View".
I did not look into whether "Flex Queries" or whatever else might save a step or two of this huge hassle, as I don't have the nerves and would hate it anyway, even if it works. I simply want what Schwab gives me directly after logging in, a screen which shows my holdings, their current prices, and their total/current % changes. Is that possible - without a million inputs and mouse clicks?

I found the IBKR reporting screens to be missing pre configured basic information that I assumed everyone would want. And trying to set it up was tedious and I gave up. Still a great broker for other reasons.

Though maybe you have a reason not to run it, this is easily solved by running their TWS app (Windows + Java).
Even if you don't use it for trading, it has precisely what you're looking for: gain/loss to date (% or dollars), current price, gain/loss today (% or dollars).
You can see it for your whole portfolio, or any subset of tickers you want to put on a page. You can put in header rows to separate sections on the page, and it will give you subtotals of the gain/loss amounts for each section.
It's daunting looking at first, but only for an hour or two.

I downloaded TWS. But as I mostly use my tablet I gave their already on it installed mobile app a try. In it I could setup the columns as I wished. Then I tried it with the browser again, the web page. Now for reasons unknown to me the "Edit Columns" button was not greyed out again and I could setup the columns there too as I wished.
I just watched for 1-2 hours the price (bid+ask+last+volume) of the NVIDIA puts I bought last week, on both, IBKR and Schwab. I am baffled because if I am not completely mistaken on IBKR those info compared to Schwab were delayed for many(!) minutes (like Schwab showing "-3.39" for % price change, and IBKR showing that only a full 15min later). I thought IBKR is the pro platform?

TWS shows a real time data feed.
But you do have to have the appropriate data subscription set up.
Most brokers have a flat rate (or hide it in their commissions), but that means some people are paying for stuff they don't need, meaning the flat rates (or trade commissions) are too high.
IB takes the opposite approach, to the extreme: you have to subscribe to what you want, perhaps in several pieces, but they sell it to you at their cost (within rounding error).
This is an approximate overview:
The usual starting point is the "IBKR Pro" non professional "US Securities Snapshot and Futures Value Bundle" that costs $10/month, waived if you spend 3x that in commissions.
Then you might add the US Equity and Options Streaming Add-On Bundle for another $4.50.
Check the details, but it's something like that. I have those two plus the "CFE Enhanced" for another $4.50, as I trade futures, plus UK equities for 5 GBP, total $25.32/month.
The flip side of that complexity is that the commissions are very low, and frequently negative. You can buy 1 A share for $1.

That explains it, because for Schwab I am a premium customer. So apparently with Schwab I get for free the real time data (or at least far "more" real time ones) I'd have to pay $14.5/month for with IB.
I am thrifty. So if I trade on IB but need real time data (only for options, for trading stocks I don't care) then as today I will look parallel at Schwab and use the bid/ask data I am seeing there to set the limit for my trade on IB.
Thank you, Jim.

Jim, are you using the new TWS Mosaic or the old classic TWS? I'm still using the classic TWS because it is what I've used for years and it suits my needs, but maybe there are good reasons to switch?

I'm with you. I use the classic TWS layout, classic colour scheme.
I did use the configuration tool to add a few fields that interest me. It keeps configuration changes like that through all the version updates so far, so I only had to do it once.
I leave the fondness for change to the insect world.
