Violating the law in order to punish someone for breaking the same law may be satisfying

That is the point. It is NOT violating the law--at least according to Spankee. No habeas corpus per him, so he can't claim it (unless he is the "true coward" he really is). However, he does NOT get the opportunity to claim anything--per him. He is OUT.
