I can see that point of view. On the other hand, our people are supposed to be "better" than that.
Yah, if you look down the road you can see something coming and it's divisive. Since we did it, we'd be better off doing the investigation (we'd have to let them know we're investigating) bring charges, have the trial, and imprison him for a while. If Trump pardons him before he leaves office, we have a problem. I'd rather not cooperate with the ICC on that but thinking about what happens leaves me up in the air. It's simpler just to get trump to not pardon him, give him a good sentence, then pardon him after a couple of years. We could be nice and let him have booze in prison though. :)
