No, you don't get to narrow down left to only the USA. The Nordic countries have high taxes, but you get a lot. These are Viking, remember? Berzerkers. :)

None of your list is out of the realm of possibility. I think we can do better on healthcare. Environmental protections need to be pruned back every now and then to make room for new growth. :) Food assistance is necessary because capitalism doesn't pay so good. We can't all be plumbers,

It was a welcome breath of fresh air to see some Social Democrats in Congress. But make no mistake, in spite of your denials, the right had gone f5 times as far to the right as the left has move left.
