Piker said Jewish support for Israel endangers USian Jews. There is a difference.

There are wide expressions of support in the US for Ireland, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Poland, to name a few. Why does that not endanger USian members of those communities? Those countries don't routinely do reprehensible things. These days, full throated support for Israel can be construed, fairly or unfairly, as support for brutality, support for terrorism, and support for genocide. *That* is what makes open, enthusiastic, support for Isreal dangerous. As we have seen, over the last year, parading around waving a "Free Palestine" banner is dangerous. It brings the power of the US government down on you. It sucks that USian Jews live in fear. USian Muslims are probably thinking "welcome to my world, of the last 25 years". Did the news in your area report the uproar in Dearborn last week, when a gaggle of Christian nutters showed up to try to provoke an incident with the city's Muslim population? Dearborn used to host an Arab Festival each year. They had to abandon the festival, because Christian nutters kept showing up, trying to provoke an incident.
