In the earliest public comments after the attack was reported, New Orleans mayor LaToya Cantrell told the media that the attack was a "terrorist attack." However, she was immediately contradicted by FBI Special Agent Althea Duncan, who confidently declared that this was "not a terrorist event," a public posture that the FBI maintained for a significant amount of time in spite of apparently being aware that the suspect had driven a truck packed with explosives into a crowd while flying an ISIS flag.
What I see is the FBI yet again lying to the American people about what they know. Here they could have said the large ISIS flag suggested there could be a terrorist connection which is under investigation along with other possible motives.
It is almost like FBI default position is to first exercise spin control, then later backtrack if forced to. The initial whitewashing of the suspect's support for ISIS is just more evidence of the rot existing within the FBI leadership. "Did FBI Special Agent Althea Duncan get orders from Washington to issue this particular initial assessment?" I wonder if liberals even see this as an important question.
What I see is someone who is grasping at a way to criticize the FBI because they want to. First, you have no idea if your first paragraph is true. you haven't identified the source - it's the BLAZE. Whoop de doo.
MBFC Overall, we rate The Blaze strongly Right Biased and Questionable based on the promotion of conspiracy theories and numerous failed fact checks.
Yes, a good contender for plastering dog shit on the policy board.
2nd. It isn't meaningful, and your analysis is biased. Even if it were true, who cares? Well, you do. It's great how this slight difference that no one cares about, engenders "lying", "spin control", "evidence of rot within the FBI leadership" "orders from Washington". Look at all those innuendo implications and assertions from - nothing. It could easily be just protocol. The rot is posting this to the board.
