You'd think people would have figured that out after Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq (and those are just our unwinnable wars).
As has been mentioned elsewhere, the regime has depth. Unlike DPRK, where if you kill a few Kims you may leave them leaderless, Iran appears to have many layers. Short of a nuke, I don't think you can take them all out. And a nuke will take out an unacceptable number of innocents.
In Vietnam we did not lose a single major engagement. Even Tet...we annihilated them. But we still lost and had to go home with our tails between our legs. This is going to be a repeat of that.
It would be interesting if the complexion of Congress changed enough in November that we could impeach, and convict, the Felon. Lots of charges are possible, but I think the Iran War would be an easy one. He has declared war without Congress. That's a no-no. He even continues to use "war", even after his lackeys try to cover for him saying he "misspoke".
