That is yet - another angry, bitter, mean spirited personal attack by Umm. I will not respond in kind. This is part of the reason the Political Asylum board, and even subsequent boards got shut down - rightfully so :)

Anyhow....the fact remains. Umm and others, for years on TMF said that "Bush's fault!" "Trump's fault!" -- when the opposition tried to blame Obama or Clinton - the Liberal response was "the buck stops here, don't blame the previous guy".
Easy solution: Liberals can just say "we went too far, blaming the incumbent for things that were going on well before he got there...." - and we can just discuss policy.
So, based on that logic it is Biden's open borders - -- DESPITE Vice President Harris's haughty, arrogant, xenophobic lectures to Guatemalans on their own soil.
As far as Biden's open borders - America is paying a price for immigration that stemmed from 3 sources: Greed, Political Correctness and a desire by some to finally dilute America -- NOT into a melting pot, but a mosaic and a polyglot. And they've succeeded. Languages, traditions, factions, castes, tribes are slowly arising.
Business loved the cheap labor. Affluent Liberals - who didn't encounter lost jobs or crowded classrooms due to certain modes of immigration, loved it - - mind you these same people can't stand H1 Legal immigration visas - cause then the Liberal gets the same competition and treatment as the middle class in America does.
America needs immigration.
America is served well by hard workers, creativity. people willing to sacrifice - - things that used to be American but lately thanks to culture have been watered down. The American spirit is alive - but THEY got it -- we are softening.
So I support bringing in harder workers. People who will keep pension plans solvent. Start small businesses. BUT I favor it happening 100% legally. Furthermore - it would have to be done with ONE litmus test: Is this person a plus for America - yes or no.
English proficiency. Cultural assimilation. Education levels. All should be official factors. Things like crime or entitlement - should not be tolerated and frankly, score should be kept to evaluate future applications. Yes, there are groups occupying prison in large numbers, and groups of immigrants and offspring occupying high learning institutions.
Canada, Aus, New Z, so many others employ such standards.
The Liberals who see immigration as a way to get their little Stock Portfolios greased up, and their lawns cut, and a way to attack middle America - need to stop their political correct nonsense and embrace immigration that benefits America, part of which is assimilation. These people who LOVE their segregated cities and non-diverse enclaves - love shouting "racist!" when Americans merely want assimilation. BUT - they will not say a darn thing when their precious friends in Paris enact hijab bans, and many other overt policies aimed at forcing assimilation which are far more xenophobic than anything Trumpy ever did.
I'm all for fast tracking 2-3 million immigration applications NOW.
But the right way.
As long as we do it the wrong way, it's great that anti immigrant Democrat mayors like Adams, has to face the problem his party invited. I am disappointed in DeSantis and Abbot for not quadrupling the effort.
