I don't think we'll be trying that product. Apparently, if it is wet for 24 hours, you have to reapply. Seems silly for an outdoor product not to be weatherproof. It doesn't rain often, but when it does the ground can be wet for a couple of days as it rains on and off during that time.

We have the landscape fabric from Costco. I may have to remove the gravel and fabric, check the soil and slope, and put it back. We mostly put that down for weed prevention. But it doesn't allow water to penetrate very well, so it may be functioning as your plastic film is.
