Going back however-many-thousands of years. To be fair, they were the primary (but not only) victims of the Holocaust. That was a full-on attempt at genocide.
This is truce. But does that justify the genocide we see going on in Gaza now? Last week, a reporter for the Beeb rode along with a Lebanese army unit, in a Christian village the Israelis have left pretty much alone. All the villages around that one have been leveled. In spite of the cease fire, the Israelis shell and bomb southern Lebanon daily, according to the Lebanese army officer the reporter talked with. Several Israeli bombs and shells landed nearby, as the reporter was filming.
The culture that has been created seems to worship victimhood. The US is a victim, in spite of attacking and invading scores of countries over the years. Israel is a victim, in spite of populations they forcibly expelled from their homes, in spite of tens of thousands of civilians that they been killed. We are all tole Israel has an irrevocable "right to exist", but Palestine does not.
