But you are, constantly. You're claiming that it's all about the percentage of GDP that each country spends on defense. So America is spending about 3% on defense, of which we might say 1% is allocated to the Atlantic and Europe, 1% to the Pacific and Asia, and 1% to the Middle East and Indian Ocean. How does that compare to the 2% and more that all European countries have committed spend, and most of them are spending that much or more? The Europeans initially agreed to spend 2% in response to Trump's bullying. Now they are actually doing it because they realize that they can't rely on America.

Trump's inclination to retreat to the Western hemisphere, abandoning Europe to Russian hegemony and Asia to Chinese hegemony is the stupidest act of political suicide in world history.
