I always laffed when anyone extolled the virtues of "talking truth to power". "Talking truth to power" will get you unemployed so fast your head will spin, because "JCs" are going to "JC".

Monday, the media was lit up about Scott Pelley of the Ellison Propaganda Network, barking about how "60 Minutes" is being gutted.

Tuesday, Scott Pelley was fired, joining the long line of departees who did not fit with the new concept ruling the network.

Scott Pelley Out at CBS News After Dramatic Clash With New ’60 Minutes’ Executive Producer

CBS News has terminated “60 Minutes” veteran Scott Pelley after the journalist and executives felt they could not find a way to work together following a heated public argument Monday between Pelley and Nick Bilton, the former tech journalist installed last week by editorial chief Bari Weiss. Pelley is the fourth “60 Minutes” reporter to leave the venerable newsmagazine since February, leaving just a trio — Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and Jon Wertheim — to handle assignments as the show prepares to get stories ready for its 59th season in the fall.

CBS News ousted a good chunk of the program’s senior managers last week, including former executive producer Tanya Simon; executive editor Draggan Mihailovich; and correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega. Anderson Cooper, who has contributed to the show for nearly 20 years, announced his exit in February.

The irony is, I regarded Pelley as a whore, from his days as anchor of the CBS evening news. He was the one that, every few days, breathlessly introduced yet another "rare look at the Syrian civil was", where women and children in refugee camps would be stood up in front of the TV camera, while an interpreter said "where is America? America has to help us". He was so shamelessly cooperating in a propaganda campaign for US intervention in Syria, that I'm surprised he had enough backbone to stand up to any degree of propaganda programming.
