Walk with me into a Star Trek episode involving a parallel universe. In this universe everything is exactly the same save for one couple in the Bay Area in the early 1960s. A white man met a woman from India while working in the civil rights movement. They had a son, Kaamil, who got a law degree, entered politics and rose to become the Vice President of the US with Joe Biden in 2020. After Biden dropped out of the race for re-election, Kaamil is tapped to run at the last minute.
Does Kaamil face the same hurdles as Kamala? He's got the same career as Kamala, same uncomfortable laugh, didn't marry until later in life. The difference is that he's a man and he's not black.
Can he pull more voters away from Trump and clearly win? Is he also neck and neck going into the final two weeks? Or is he clearly losing?
