Netanyahu was warned of 7 October Hamas attacks, book claims
Benjamin Netanyahu was personally alerted by the president of the United Arab Emirates that Hamas was planning a large-scale offensive against Israel a week before its 7 October 2023 attack, but did not act on the warning, according to a book by Haaretz reporters.
A week earlier the Israeli security service got similar information. A meeting of the key defense establishment, including the PM, defense minister, army chief, etc. was held and there was no decision to act. Then Netanyahu got a call from the UAE head. They talked for 45 minutes. Netanyahu kept the call itself a secret from all his defense chiefs. He told no one about it. The bombshell accusation isn't that he didn't act, it's that he told no one.
In the aftermath of Oct.7 Netanyahu has constantly claimed that he has no responsibility because no one alerted him.
What was he thinking????
