Tesla offers Elon Musk pay package worth $1 trillion — with conditions

The electric-vehicle maker’s board proposed a compensation agreement that would dramatically increase the CEO’s personal wealth over the course of a decade.

Elon Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire if investors approve a new pay package proposed by Tesla’s board on Friday.

In what the electric-vehicle maker called an “ambitious plan to retain and incentivize Mr. Musk,” the company would give the CEO a maximum payout representing an additional 12 percent stake in Tesla, contingent on reaching milestones that would drive the company’s market value to at least $8.5 trillion by 2035. The offer is worth more than 18 times the value of Musk’s prior pay package, which was already a record-setting deal that established an unprecedented benchmark for CEO pay.

I don't know, is Musk really worth this gamble?
