tucked away in my personal collection, is a DVD of "Escape from Zahrain". A fictional story of a oil sheikdom where the sheik steals all the oil wealth for himself, a populist leader who is marked for death by the sheik, and an American engineer (and embezzler) who worked for the oil company. The populist makes the point that the people should share in the wealth, while the American notes that, without American technical skill, there would not be any oil wealth for the people. The film was made in 1962, long before the Iranian revolution, or the "Arab spring".
