NYT article. The subject says it all. Someone from Iraqi territory launched a drone strike against a Saudi pipeline. The Saudis promptly shut the pipeline down.
Yet another example of why we must not be reliant on foreign resources. They can be interdicted at the source, or in transit. We need to make our own stuff here, including petroleum products. And if we can't make enough, then we need to find alternatives so we don't need as much (e.g. EV instead of ICE, making our own N95s (remember COVID?), sourcing electronics domestically (especially for military applications). Etc.).
Gas prices will almost certainly jump. Including diesel. Which powers all the modes of delivery of food to grocery stores. Expect prices to go up. Because we rely on oil flowing that is not within our control. And, as the Felon has shown, will never be in our control. Unless we produce it here (and maybe Canada). Reducing our hydrocarbon dependence will go a long way to improving national security.
