Thomas had previously been on notice of having failed to report gifts and knew there were strict requirements around reporting. Further, Crow had befriended the Thomases only after Clarence Thomas became a justice.

Oh, I don't know. I have had friends pay for my entire vacation in luxury locations, fly me around on their private jet, and lavish $2000 a bottle champagne on me before. Hasn't everyone?

And then do it again year after year after year.

Is this unusual?
