Thanks (again) for all your work Manlobbi!

You'll enjoy the way it works, hang in there. *Some* users don't have the initiative to select a board as a favourite with TMF and would continually search through Companies / B / Berkshire every time they open their browser. That is taken care of automatically in Shrewdom.

I like your idea but too much clutter, and heading toward gadget-geeky aesthetic which we don't want.

Purity, logic, beauty - so most get what they want without even realizing anythin t is happening behind the scenes.

I don't know who 'we' are, but I second Aguila's (and others') suggestion about being able to be in control, and well, allow Favorites to be your favorites.

Favorites serves as as hub that users use for various reasons. Algorithmic as initial helper is fine, but imho shouldn't be mutually exclusive to giving users the freedom to choose what works best for them. A favorite board can be something I like and want to keep track on or read at my own pace.

From my experience in trying to be of help over at that other place: 'Where's my favorites', 'How do add my favorites' and so on was/is a top priority asked over and over again. Especially from those used to the old boards. Other threads include confusion and complaints about 'favorite boards' being in random order or moving around in mysterious ways. Here's one about the latter:

Algorithmic ranking of boards based on views and recommendations runs the risk of acting as a funnel for consumption of 'more of the same', which I suppose is the opposite of what we want. Take a hypothetical Twitter-like platform for example, that pushes categories to the top based on how much you read and click on 'like'. Would 'Favorites' be an appropriate term for such a system, and if not, what's the difference?
