If taxpayers are subsidizing your health care, then they have every right to demand that you honor the investment.
In the minds of the mob, it doesn't work that way. Try to take medicare treatment away from elderly MAGAs because of the poor diet and lifestyle choices they made over the years, and watch what happens. In 2020, imagine if a MAGA's health insurance refused to pay for treatment for Covid, because he refused to wear a mask, or stay away from other people. I ran into that attitude a lot when I worked at Radio Shack: people trying to get stuff repaired free. no matter how much they abused the product.
