So, none of the eight non-republican Senators who voted for the Thune deal are up for reelection in 2026, and two have said they are retiring from the Senate.

So, what was in it for them to vote contrary to the bulk of their party? It seems nothing. Which means it looks like they sincerely believe that it's the best thing for their constituents. I can't hate them for that.
