On Saturday at the Gridiron dinner in Washington, former vice president Pence said unequivocally that Trump had been 'wrong' to demand he overturn the election, something Pence maintained he had no power to do. 'His reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day. And I know that history will hold Donald Trump accountable.'
Unsurprisingly, former president Trump did not wait long to shift the blame to Pence: "Had he sent the votes back to the legislatures, they wouldn't have had a problem with Jan. 6, so in many ways you can blame him for Jan. 6. Had he sent them back to Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, the states, I believe, number one, you would have had a different outcome. But I also believe you wouldn't have had 'Jan. 6' as we call it."
Trump sent the mob to the Capitol to block the certification of the electoral vote count, then stood by while the mob erected a gallows and chanted "Hang Mike Pence" after he was evacuated, and now Trump says it was entirely Pence's fault... yet Pence refuses to testify under oath because he has a laughable notion that by saying Trump will be judged harshly by history but not actually testifying against him gives Pence a real chance to become president in 2024.
After listening to these two idiots, why would anyone support either one?
This republican presidential campaign is gonna' be lit. Watching them all rip each other to shreds is going to be epic.
Like the senator said: "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it."
