God and Savior Trump the Perfect proclaimed the USMCA a win, when he was taking credit for it. The treaty is up for renegotiation this year. He now declares it "irrelevant".

Trump says USMCA is irrelevant for US

"There's no real advantage to it, it's irrelevant," Trump said. "Canada would love it. Canada wants it. They ‌need it."

"The problem is we don't need their product. You know, we don't need cars made in Canada. We don't need cars made in Mexico. We want ⁠to take them here. And that's what's happening," he said.

The President of Mexico probably saw this coming. Mexico has imposed 50% tariffs on both Chinese, and Indian, produced cars. Chinese brands have been making significant progress in Mexico. I suspect she is trying to lock Chinese and Indian cars out of Mexico, in the hope Mexicans will buy Mexican produced cars, because she expects shipments to the US to wither.
