I live in a university town, when Russia invaded Ukraine a few individuals who had lived, studied or had relatives presented their view on the events to an interested audience.
I decided to compare what the consensus of that initial viewpoint was to what AI's understanding was.
To AI: Ukraine poll what percentage of population would prefer alignment with Russia vs west and a separate poll what percentage want to stay independent”
Response: In a 2021 poll, 54% of Ukrainians would vote for NATO membership, according to a poll by the International Republican Institute, while 28% would vote against it. A different poll showed that 49.7% of Donbas residents wanted to remain under Kyiv's control, 22.8% preferred Russia, and 8.9% wanted independence, with a large percentage unable to choose. Additionally, a Pew Research Center study found that 77% of Ukrainians wanted Ukraine to remain united.
The only difference between the AI summery and the knowledgeable individuals was that they broke it down into different regions (the east 1/3 of country was more pro-Russian, the cities and educated pro-west).
