I agree wholeheartedly with you that any privilege randomly granted in this existence is a call to service. The only way forward is together. The future does not look bright.
I do not contest the history of the Jewish state millennia ago, but rather the extrapolation of ownership based on that history. There is abundantly more non-Jewish history from that area. I would also aver that the troubles began in the late 1800's when Ashkenazy Zionists began to migrate to Palestine. Riots and unrest fomented then where largely unheard of between Palestinian Moslems, Christians, and Sephardic Jews.
The levels of violence where escalated by Irgun, Haganah, and the stern Group with the intent of triggering exodus of terrified Palestinian villagers. There are video interviews of men who participated in those events that are terrifying.
Since the founding of Israel, it seems that every negotiation/agreement is built with untenable flaws for a Palestinian state, for example, no right for international travel. I full and equal Palestinian state was never offered. And with each rebellious response of Palestinians, more expulsions and more expansion. It gives the impression that it was the intent all along. And when Rabin finally saw the light that only respect for the Palestinian people would be the humane way forward vs extermination, he was assassinated for finding his humanity.
So not we are facing the genocide of Palestinians not only in Gaza but expulsions and murders in the West Bank, live stock slaughtered and olive trees felled. There is little left to be admired in Israeli society. Generally, brutality and violence is the norm.
70,000 deaths in Gaza, not counting the bodies buried in rubble or vaporized by Mk 84 2000# bombs. The largest cohort of children amputees in world history. A population on the verge of starvation. And we are told that Hamas is responsible. No one but Israel is responsible for this and the destruction of all health care in Gaza. For the murder of more journalists than in world war II, I can't go on. There is more but I can't go on...
