Thanks. Again, I see this position expressed a lot, and I'm never sure whether people think that it will result in Israel changing their policies or instead a severance of the U.S.-Israel relationship.
We can always hope, but as you've probably observed I tend towards the darker outcomes (which, sadly, are usually correct). It is also possible that after some time going it on their own they may say "gee, that was a bad choice...maybe we should get back to our borders, and talk to them again." I think that is plausible. But, initially, I wouldn't expect them to go back to their treaty borders. They would have to be motivated, which going it alone for a while might accomplish.
