The very essence of the immigration argument is WHO you let in. If all you're letting in are people in the low incomes strata, they're not paying for sh1t. More likely the opposite.
Why would rich people leave a comfortable life, to come to the US, then start from scratch? There are a few exceptions, but mostly Irish, Italians, Slavs. My paternal grandparents moved here to get away from a hard life on fishing boats. I had to laff when I looked at my gransfather's naturalization certificate. Everything is handwritten, except for the line where he renounces allegiance to a foreign "power, prince, or potentate". The entry for "George V, King of Great Britian and Ireland" is done with a rubber stamp, probably because there were so many Irish flooding into the metro NYC area. Irish? They aren't even Protestant, but they were allowed in, in huge numbers.
