The fact that neither Denmark nor Greenland has said a word about it suggests they are weighing how best to respond to this nonsense.
It's real. I was watching the Beeb at midnight. They ran a clip of the Danish PM announcing the agreement. As is typical for Trump, he inflates what he "won", and doesn't talk about what he gave up. The Beeb says the agreement isn't much different from the 1951 agreement, so one wonders what the entire kerfuffle was about. The Danes say the agreement respects Danish and Greenland sovereignty and Greenlandic self-determination. Of course, as we know, Trump's word isn't worth spit. He likely will be back in a couple years, demanding more. The though crosses my mind, those 25,000 troops he wants to pull out of Europe might be deployed to Greenland. Then, once they are well established, hop in their trucks, drive to Nuuk, occupy the government buildings, and announce Greenland is a US possession.
