That's Yale University's estimate of the savings from single-payer Medicare for All.
OK, so we would save over $1 billion annually AND save 114,000 American lives annually.
BUT, what about the health of the health insurance CEOs personal bank accounts?
These Yale University guys sound like a bunch of commies to me.
Just a reminder about how screwed up our current healthcare system is: Billing health insurance companies is the only instance in the universe where you WANT to be paid LESS than what you billed.
If you got paid what you billed an insurance company, you were getting screwed. Getting paid what you billed meant you hadn’t reached the health insurance company ceiling for what they would pay.
When I worked in healthcare, my billing staff was trained to alert me immediately when a health insurance company paid us what we billed. That meant we had to raise the price we billed for that procedure.
Only in America.
