What is the biblical penalty for rape and pedophilia? TIA

As wzambon said: it depends. In places it is treated as normal or acceptable (i.e. no penalty).

I knew how this thread was going to go when I read the initial post. You can find justification for almost anything in the bible. You want to forgive? It's in there. You want to condemn someone for something? It's probably in there.

One of many reasons there are so many denominations, IMO, is that each group favors some verses and avoids others. Pick your denomination that agrees with your preconceived ideas/positions.

So, of course LM could come up with a biblical counter to the OP. Hers was a "get out of jail free" verse, too. Support whatever/whomever you like under the banner of "I forgive them". I wonder how many catholics say that about pedo priests so they can continue to be catholics.**
