They could have pleaded for patience and said the incident would be investigated—the standard response in such circumstances. I posted a link, this morning, about "border czar" Tom Homan getting squeamish about the right's rush to whitewash the incident, and pleading for people to let the investigation proceed.
But, Trump advocated shooting demonstrators, in his first term.
If you look at a longer version of the video, you see her wave ICE vehicles to go around her car. Hardly a hostile act. But the second ICE vehicle did not drive around. The two men dismounted, approached her car, and one started yanking on the door handle. We have all seen enough videos of ICE dragging women out of their cars, and tossing them in jail for a few days. If the guys had stayed in their truck, instead of making threatening moves...
