I purchased Apple in Sept. 2010, at about $9.25 per share (split-adjusted), so my “core” position has grown over 3,500%. I “harvested” profits along the way as the apples began overflowing their valuation basket. However, given the growth, Apple remains one of my largest holdings. I was pleased when Berkshire made its initial Apple purchase a few years after I did and also pleased when Berkshire trimmed the stock. The current valuation still appears too “juicy” for my taste buds.
When Berkshire Hathaway drastically “pared” its massive Apple position between 2024 and 2025, Buffett admitted that he "sold it too soon" but remains highly confident in the business. He added in a recent CNBC interview that he would buy "a whole lot" of Apple stock again if the price declines and it becomes cheap enough...as would I. He is paying attention to valuation! 😉
