Trump bragged on his ironically named social media platform that Thanksgiving dinner costs at Walmart are cheaper this year than last year.

But he is comparing oranges to pumpkins.

President Donald Trump touted a price reduction in Walmart’s annual Thanksgiving meal package as proof of a strengthening economy. But he left out some key context, as social media sleuths quickly pointed out.

But Trump did not acknowledge that Walmart changed both the meal’s composition and branding from 2024 to 2025.

A community note on X pointed out that this year’s meal featured fewer brand-name items and six fewer items overall. The Turkey cost nine cents more compared to last year, and 2024 items like a premade pie, cranberry sauce and onions were dropped entirely.

The link has posts that detail all the differences. Who would have thought Trump would lie about a holiday?
