The week's question
In March 2025, in the thread "Re: OT, out", Umm asked the members: "Do you think it is because America is made up of magical soil that makes businesses based in America magically profitable?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

What a stupid article:
The changes are already visible, including in rising European defense spending, Canada’s commercial outreach to China, and Japan’s efforts to become a larger arms supplier. Taken together, these trends point to a reordering of the international system that stretches far beyond Trump.

Talk about arriving at all the wrong conclusions.

Japan: Trump is EXTREMELY close with Prime Minister Takaichi. Japan is arming itself against...potential Chinese aggression.

Canada is reaching out to China because Carney is a WEF wannabe Bond villain.

The Europeans have hollowed out not only their collective militaries but also their industrial complexes. They're finally figuring out that they actually need to spend money on their own defense.

Good Lord, how dumb.

The best part, the part that hoists this entire board on its smug petard:

Progressive Democrats are also embracing tools championed by Trump, including certain tariffs and other protectionist measures. As president, Biden kept most of the tariffs Trump imposed during his first term, even as his “America Is Back” mantra sought to reassure allies they still had America’s support.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

No need to read this article any further.
